Pender County ABC Store: Expanding Service and Storage with a Brighter, Modern Design
To support growth in the Town of Burgaw, Pender County board members launched the development of a new ABC store and warehouse. Located prominently on a busy highway, the goal is to better serve residents, attract visitors, and boost alcohol sales revenue.
Offering three times more space than before, the facility includes a 4,500 SF retail space and stockroom. Meanwhile, the administrative offices grew from 450 SF to 1,500 SF to accommodate the growing staff.
Additionally, the 9,000 SF distribution warehouse addresses the county’s growing storage needs to better supply the stores in the county. This also enables bulk purchasing at discounted rates, increasing long-term profitability.
Notably, the building design is a departure from the typical ABC Stores. Large windows bring natural light into the retail area, stockroom, and warehouse. As a result, the space feels brighter, more open, and more welcoming for both customers and staff.
