Designed in response to an ambitious project-based curriculum, the new Trinity Middle School delivers a flexible, technology-rich environment for 950 students. Learning happens everywhere—from classrooms to informal breakout zones designed to support everything from two-person conversations to group instruction and lectures.

At the heart of the school is a bright, daylit central commons that serves as a hub for interactive learning, fostering a stimulating and collaborative atmosphere.

Smith Sinnett Architecture provided master planning, facility needs assessment, architectural design, and construction administration services, ensuring the school’s design aligned with both educational goals and operational needs. The team also worked closely with the district to address owner priorities through strategic phasing and scheduling solutions.

Sustainable features include:

  • Onsite stormwater management through constructed wetlands
  • Reduced curb and gutter for a less invasive, cost-saving approach
  • Optimized building orientation and daylighting strategies
  • Energy-efficient LED lighting and ducted air returns
  • Durable brick and block construction
  • Compliance with ENERGY STAR® standards
