Centralizing Training and Operations for the North Carolina National Guard

The 84,610-square-foot McLeansville Regional Readiness Center serves as the administrative and training hub of the North Carolina National Guard’s largest regional campus. Designed to consolidate multiple armories and support a broad range of military operations, the facility includes administrative offices, classrooms, an assembly hall, a commercial kitchen, fitness facilities, locker rooms, and secure unit storage.

The design balances efficient daily operations with the flexibility required for training, mobilization, and community-response efforts. Located on a 66-acre campus, the Readiness Center is supported by a Field Maintenance Shop, detached storage facilities, a guard house, military-vehicle parking, stormwater-management facilities, a perimeter running track, and infrastructure for future expansion.

Smith Sinnett Architecture provided advanced planning, architectural design, interior design, and construction administration.
